The Department of Biochemistry deals with the study of chemical processes within, and relating to, living organisms by controlling information flow through biochemical signaling and the flow of chemical energy through metabolism, biochemical processes give rise to the complexity of life imparts knowledge on biochemistry and applied clinical aspects to the students of 1st year MBBS. Department has qualified and competent faculty and staff for medical education and clinical laboratory services. Eminent and experienced teaching faculty with good admixture of experience, enthusiasm and research-orientation. The department is located in the heart of Shridevi Medical College. The department has a fully equipped laboratory for undergraduate training. Two demonstration halls for undergraduate students, a research laboratory and a departmental library. The Department also functions a Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory in the hospital.

The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory is located in Shridevi Research Hospital main building a unit of SIMS & RH. Working tables equipped with latest instruments, charts and audio-visual systems. The laboratory is well equipped with fully automated analyzers. These systems utilize the latest technologies. The laboratory offers 24X7 service and possesses state-of-the-art laboratory facility and experienced supervisory staff and technical staff.
