INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RADIOLOGY -2023

 

International Day of Radiology  (IDOR) was celebrated on 11-11-2023, 10:30AM-11:30AM at Seminar room, Department of Radiology, Shridevi institute of medical sciences and research hospital, Tumkur.

The recently inaugurated Shridevi Institute for Advanced Medical Skill and Simulation marks a monumental stride in medical education, positioning itself as a beacon of innovation and excellence. The grand opening ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of Honourable Minister medical Education Department of Karnataka Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil,  was a momentous occasion that underlined the institute's commitment to advancing medical training and simulation.

The event began with a palpable sense of excitement, as dignitaries Dr. M R Hulinaykar, Honurable Chairmen, Dr. Raman M Hulinaykar Medical Director, Dr. Harendra kumar Principal, Dr. Sparshadeep Chief coordinator skill centre, faculty members, and guests gathered to witness the unveiling of this state-of-the-art institution. The dignified presence of Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil added prestige to the occasion, emphasizing the government's support for cutting-edge medical education.

 

A World Where Deaf People Everywhere Can Sign Anywhere

 

 

 

International Week of Deaf is celebrated every year from 18th to 24th of September.

The theme for 2023 is - “A World Where Deaf People Everywhere Can Sign Anywhere!”.

This year, the Department of ENT has celebrated The International Week of Deaf from 09-10-2023 to 20-10-2023.

The Department had conducted school visits to:

A) MGM Girls High School, Madhugiri on 09-10-2023 and educated them about hearing loss, early intervention and virtual autism.

B) Vaani Deaf Foundation on 11-10-2023 and educated about early intervention, hearing aids and cochlear implants and post implant speech therapy.

C) Hellen Keller Integrated Education Society on 12-10-2023 and educated on post implant audio verbal therapy, and national programmes.

Interdepartmental Programme was conducted on 18-10-2023 for postgraduates of Department of ENT and Pediatrics, where the neonatal and childhood causes of deafness were discussed by the PGs of Pediatrics, and audiological evaluation and treatment of deafness was discussed by PGs of ENT.

Symposium for undergraduates was conducted on 19-10-2023 on the topic - “Evaluation of Deaf Child”.

A poster presentation competition was conducted for the 2nd and 3rd year MBBS students based on this year’s theme - “Importance of Sign Language”.

A Guest Lecture was organised on 20-10-2023, Ms. Radhika Poovaiah, Chairman, Samvaad Institute of Speech and Hearing, gave a talk emphasising the importance of sign language.

World Anatomy Day is a global observance dedicated to celebrating and promoting the field of anatomy. It provides an
opportunity to

recognize the importance of anatomy in the fields of medicine, biology, and various scientific disciplines. This day aims to raise

awareness about the study of the structure of the human body and other organisms, emphasizing its critical role in understanding

health and disease, advancing medical research, and enhancing medical education.

 

 

The Inauguration and White Coat Ceremony of the Foundation Course Year 2023-24

The prestigious institution, a momentous occasion unfolded on the first day of the Foundation course. It was a day that marked the dawn of a new era for aspiring medical professionals, where tradition and modernity converged to set the tone for the journey ahead.

The event, graced by an array of distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, was presided over by the venerable Chairman, Dr. Hulinaykar sir. His presence alone was enough to inspire reverence and admiration among all those present. His vision and leadership were symbolic of the institute's commitment to excellence.

Adding further gravitas to the occasion, the Superintendent of Police of Tumkur, Mr. K. V. Ashok, stood as the chief guest. His attendance emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the institution and the community it served. Mr. Ashok's presence served as a reminder that healthcare transcends the walls of the institution and extends into the heart of the community.

The assembly of dignitaries continued with Medical Director, Dr. Raman M. Hulinaykar, whose distinguished career in medicine added luster to the ceremony. Mr. M. S. Patil, the Director of HR and IT, brought an essential perspective to the event, underlining the significance of technology in modern healthcare.

The Principal, Dr. M. L. Harendra Kumar, was a guiding light for the students. He epitomized the values of mentorship and academic excellence, setting a high standard for all to follow.

The Medical Superintendent, Dr. Mohan Kumar K, demonstrated the commitment to the holistic well-being of the students, underscoring the importance of both their physical and mental health.

The institution's leadership was further bolstered by the Vice Principals, Dr. Rekha Gurumurthy (Academics) and Dr. Hemanth Raj (Administration). Their diverse roles illustrated the comprehensive approach the institution took towards education and management.
