DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL MEDICINE

Overview of the Department:

The Department of Medicine deals with general medical problems & medical emergencies. The Medicine department is one of the busiest departments, with an average 200 outpatients and 25 inpatients' admissions daily. The department caters to general medical problems & medical emergencies. The department also runs the casualty unit and fully equipped Intensive Care Units. The Department functions in the ground floor of the OPD block of the hospital. The staff including the residents offers round the clock emergency services to the public. The Department will be involved in teaching and training undergraduate medical students. Undergraduate teaching will involve lectures, seminar presentations, bedside clinics and grand rounds.

Facilities:

The Medicine department is well equipped with state of the art facilities like ICU, ICCU, 24X7 Casualty, microscopes & specimens, Ambulance with ICU and highly qualified and renowned doctors. The Department conducts regular health camps in rural area. The OPD is equipped with all advance instruments for easy and quick diagnosis. The Department has a team of well experienced, research-oriented and dedicated teaching and non-teaching faculty. The classrooms and seminar are well equipped with LCD projectors and latest audio-visual aids. The Central Library having excellent collection of books on Medicine.
