16th National and State-level Pediatric Intensive Care Conference – First time in Tumkur

Speaking at the press meet, Dr. Harendra Kumar, Principal of Shridevi Medical College, said that for the very first time in Tumkur, the 16th Pediatric Intensive Care Conference will be organized under the joint auspices of Central IAP, PICC, IAP Karnataka, and KPICC.

The three-day conference will be held on September 12, 13, and 14. Senior pediatric specialists from across Karnataka and other states will participate. Around 500 to 600 pediatricians from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala will attend.

The program will also include:

  • Paper presentations

  • Critical Care Insights

  • Essay competitions

  • Quiz contests


IAP President Dr. Ashok informed that this three-day workshop is being conducted jointly with Shridevi Medical College, Siddhartha Medical College, and Siddaganga Medical College. About 500 pediatricians will participate, with resource persons coming from Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and the UK.


Dr. Chandan said:
“In this workshop, Dr. Srinidhi from the UK will participate as a resource person. Discussions will focus on how the latest pediatric intensive care practices being followed abroad can be adapted in India. About 45 nurses from our hospital will also be given an opportunity to attend, which will help them in ICU treatments in the future. Senior specialists from Apollo Hospitals in Bangalore, Kolkata, and Chennai will also participate. I hope this workshop, with in-depth discussions on new treatment methods, will be successful.”


Dr. Pallavi added:
“This workshop will introduce new treatment techniques and critical care experiments. Experts from various districts of Karnataka will take part. The first workshop will be held in the Shridevi Medical College lab, focusing on the use of IV drips and ventilators. In the coming days, updated treatments and new innovations will also be discussed, which will provide a clear direction for our future work.”
