
16th State-level Conference on Pediatric Intensive Care
For success in treatment, it is essential to combine advanced technology, expert knowledge, and experience. Providing care with a sense of motherhood and clearly explaining treatment details to the patients’ families is equally important, said Dr. M.R. Hulinayakar, President of Shridevi Group of Educational Institutions.
The 16th State-level Pediatric Intensive Care Conference is being organized on September 13th, Saturday at 11 a.m. in the auditorium of Shridevi Medical College and Research Hospital, Tumkur. The program is jointly hosted by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Critical Care Chapter (KAP) Karnataka Chapter, Sree Siddartha Medical College, and Sree Siddaganga Medical College’s Department of Pediatrics, with Shridevi Medical College and Research Hospital.
Speaking at the event, Dr. G.V. Basavaraju, President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, said that over the last 25 years, pediatric critical care has grown immensely in treating infants in life-threatening conditions. For a doctor, experience is vital, and timely decision-making is crucial. This conference must shed more light on reducing maternal and newborn mortality and improving children’s health in the future.
Dr. Raman M. Hulinayakar, Medical Director of Shridevi, explained that the conference workshops were held over three days, with participation from more than 500 senior pediatric specialists. It was a proud moment to see participation from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, as well as districts and taluks across Karnataka.
Dr. Ashok C., President of IAP, expressed pride that for the first time such a pediatric care conference was being held in Tumkur. He highlighted the significant support extended by Dr. M.R. Hulinayakar, President of Shridevi Group of Institutions.
Dr. Kumar, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Sree Siddaganga Medical College, noted that many senior pediatricians from across the state and various districts had participated at the invitation of IAP. Events included e-poster presentations, paper presentations, “Critical Care Insight” sessions, debates, and quiz competitions.
Dr. Chandan C.K., the Secretary, said that experts from both India and abroad participated as resource persons in this conference. A grand banquet was organized at Ashwini Ayurvedic College, graced by renowned film actor Sharan as the chief guest, adding charm to the event. A musical performance by the band “Staccato” entertained the audience.
